Much To My Delight

Somebody got a camera for Christmas…

This post is going to be photo heavy. Not just because I got a new camera for Christmas but because my mom just boarded her flight back to Houston after a week of holiday fun at our house, and I haven’t had time to sit and do a lot of writing. It’s a shame too, because she says a lot of funny stuff like “Far out!” and “Jiminy Crickets!” and I wish I had the creative juice right now to really do something with it. Anyway, we had so much fun, and it was really nice to have my little mama around. Here are a few shots of our Christmas week.

Christmas was extra jolly this year as we hosted my mom at our apartment here in Queens and shuffled her around to all her/our favorite spots. We ate our weight in ethnic foods and spent lots of time with Vin’s family. It was awesome. Today’s my first day back at work and my heels are dragging, but we’ve got another holiday coming up right quick! You can guess where I’ll be tomorrow night to ring in the new year. That’s right–anywhere but Times Square.

Hope you had a great holiday!

Thanks Daina! I know you can appreciate the thrill of a new camera!

Oh yay! What camera did you get? Once I made the mistake of going through Times Square on NYE just to catch a train. It was such a nightmare. Never again.

Nikon D7100. Shoots awesome. My old D40 broke so this was a super fun upgrade.

Fun! Real New York question: does a black and white cookie taste as iconic as it looks?

They are just okay, honestly. They’re more like cake than cookie. Problem is they have usually been wrapped in saran wrap and kept on a deli counter for a day before you eat it. I must say, the best B&W cookie is the one I baked myself.
